KeyBank: Paperless Interstitial
How much can a single interstitial effect a business?
Quite a bit. In fact, it can save millions in spending.
KeyBank didn’t automatically enroll users in paperless statements. Over the years, this meant millions in printing costs. Working with the KeyBank Consumer Product Team, I helped write an interstitial that would appear on a user’s initial sign on. It informed the user that they’d be automatically enrolled in paperless billing. It took several rounds of edits between legal and I to get the wording just right, but the result was a huge boon for the business.
In just its first month, the paperless interstitial enrolled 200,000 accounts in e-billing, and it saved the bank over $2,000,000 in paper printing costs. It goes to show how simple UX solutions can have an incredible impact on the bottom line.
